Stretton Theatre &  Concert Group

Update on STCG Events as a result of Coronovirus Developments

Update on 8th May, 2020

The refund from Malvern Theatre in respect of the tickets for "By The Waters Of Liverpool" has now been processed by the theatre. Those members who booked for the show will receive their reimbursement shortly.

This means that the cost of all of the tickets that the STCG bought for events that subsequently had to be cancelled has been recovered.

This is a tribute to the theatres and concert hall concerned and we wish them well in their difficult task of recovering from the financial impact of this situation.

The STCG Committee

Statement on 17th March, 2020

The coronavirus pandemic is causing unprecedented challenges for everyone and I write to update you on the current situation as it impacts on all of us in the Stretton Theatre and Concert Group.

Following the Prime Minister’s urgings yesterday, all theatres and concert halls have now closed their doors and will not reopen until the situation improves.

We have two theatre events and one concert already arranged and paid for and a further concert is currently open for applications. They are as follows:

Theatre  -  By the Waters of Liverpool at Malvern Theatre in April and

A Comedy of Errors at Stratford in May.

Concerts -  Siberian Symphony Orchestra –Tchaikovsky in April  and  CBSO: Brahms – Symphony No. 1 in May - both in the Symphony Hall.                                                                                     .

The CBSO concert that is still open for booking we will now cancel  and return members’ cheques.

We will now seek reimbursement for the cancelled shows/concerts and will refund to you when received.  Please be aware this may take some time.

On a positive note, this situation cannot last for ever and we look forward to updating you on new events in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, I look forward to the time when we can meet again and begin to enjoy first class theatre and concert outings once more. In the meantime, I wish you all a safe passage through these unusual times.

Best wishes,

Chairman STCG
